Fit for Office - ukactive and Technogym throw down the gauntlet to MPs

In June, hundreds of MPs, Peers and Parliamentary staff took part in the 4th Fit for Office Challenge, an annual initiative delivered by ukactive in partnership with Technogym.

Movement That Matters

Fit For Office participants tracked their activity using the Technogym App, earning MOVEs based on the intensity and duration of exercise. Individual scores contributed towards office leaderboards across Westminster, encouraging people to add to individual and team-based stats.

Designed to encourage Parliamentarians to move more during the working day, the challenge demonstrate how technology and personalised fitness experiences can encourage engagement and increase physical activity in even the busiest environments.

This year's challenge attracted a record 268 MPs, Peers and Parliamentary staff, representing year-on-year growth since the initiative launched in 2023. Uptake reflects growing recognition that physical activity is an important contributor to workplace wellbeing, organisational performance, and public health.

Technogym Ecosystem Driving Engagement

Friendly competition sparked participation, but it was the Technogym ecosystem that kept participants motivated. Across the month, 268 users engaged with the Technogym App, completing a total of 679 workouts amassing 592,260 MOVES. More than 67% of active users completed at least four workouts, suggesting that people were building habits in their weekly routines.

During the campaign, 191 participants accessed the Wellness Magazine within the Technogym ecosystem, reflecting growing interest in holistic wellbeing and healthier lifestyle choices. This integrated approach sits at the heart of Technogym's Wellness Ecosystem, where training content, personalised programmes, tracking, and education sit within one digital experience.

Technogym's guided training content - including Precision Programmes, Sessions, Routines and Signature Programmes – accounted for 18% of completed workouts, showing the power of structured digital coaching for encouraging more movement.

The most popular activity was the App's 'Do It Yourself' workout feature (36.1% of all sessions completed), suggesting the value of giving users autonomy with personalised workouts.

EMBEDDING WELLNESS INTO THE DAILY ROUTINE

Behavioural change is often driven by social interaction in combination with data. Throughout June, the Technogym App became a focal point of participants' routines, rewarding them with visible progress. Fit For Office participants made almost 75,000 visits to the App’s Challenges section and 23,000 visits to the Results page, highlighting an appetite for tracking performance and progress.

The challenge ended with Caroline Nokes MP topping the individual leaderboard and Daisy Cooper MP's office claimed the title of Westminster's most active Parliamentary office - a collective commitment to making movement part of working life.

Cameron Saunders, CEO of ukactive, said: “It was great to see more records being broken again in this year’s Fit for Office challenge, with more MPs than ever getting involved to champion the importance of physical activity."

“Congratulations to the winners and everyone who took part, and a huge thank you to our partners Technogym and ukactive members who supported activity within their facilities."

“We hope the participants keep the momentum going and continue to inspire their colleagues to move more and ensure their constituents benefit from great fitness facilities in every community.”

“By embedding wellness into the daily routine, we don’t just encourage activity – we enable sustainable behavioural change, improve energy levels, and enhance both individual performance and organisational outcomes. Because for us, movement is not an add‑on – it’s an essential foundation for a better quality of life.”
